The Publishing House “Akademperiodyka”, as the publisher of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the primary organization of the Scientific Publishing Council of NAS of Ukraine, works and develops in three main directions. They are pre-polygraphic preparation of publications — from manuscript to layout original, polygraphic preparation full cycle — from layout original to printing production, and consultative and methodological work on the arrangement of publishing activities of scientific institutions.
The Publishing House must become a scientific and methodological centre, publisher, and printing base for the entire Academy to perform the task of the NAS of Ukraine presidium.
Such diversity of types and areas of activities can be implemented through extensive and flexible structure only and is supported by an organic combination of departments functions within “Akademperiodyka”.
The historical foundation of the Publishing House is the printing office. Presently, we have significantly upgraded and expanded the polygraphic technology park, modernizing the production considerably.
A bit later, the pre-printing started to develop extensively. The presence of this part distinguishes a polygraphic company from a publishing organization. Our experts can perform the full range of pre-polygraphic services — from editing to the making of electronic layout originals of any publication suitable for printing or posting on the Internet. All work stages go in close collaboration with the authors.
We started scientific research, methodological, and advisory activities once the group of scientific and methodological support of the publishing activities of NAS of Ukraine was organized as part of PH “Akademperiodyka”. Today, we carry out applied research on the publishing history of the Academy and the most modern of its directions – the introduction of new technologies at different stages of the publishing and printing process, providing constant consultations for scientific and educational institutions.
All three departments work closely on each publication; employees follow the major global trends and innovations, changes in current legislation, etc.
