The first part of the almanac gives the 2004 calendar, description of calendar systems used by various peoples in the world, ephemerides of the Sun, the Moon, and planets, moments of rising and setting of the Sun and the Moon, passages of the Sun and the Moon through the signs of the zodiac, planetar)’ configurations, 1he visibility of planets and Jupiter’s satellites on the sky, the data on variable stars, comets, occultations of stars by the Moon, meteor showers, eclipses, and other celestial phenomena.

The second part deals with the current state of investigations in some fields of astronomy, recent events and interesting facts in the history of astronomy are reviewed.

The almanac may be used as a handbook by school teachers, students, pupils, amateur astronomers, and specialists in related sciences.
