This is the first book in Ukrainian popular science literature about the life and career of Serhiy Mykolayovych Vynohradsky, a world-famous Ukrainian scientist, the discoverer of chemosynthesis in a large group of soil microorganisms and the role of the latter in fixing atmospheric nitrogen and the circulation of substances in nature, one of the founders of general and soil microbiology and ecology. The book contains a bibliography of printed works by S.M. Vynohradsky and a list of major publications about the scientist. The publication is illustrated with photographs and portraits of the scientist and his closest students, D.K. Zabolotny and V.L. Omelyansky.<\/p>\n
