The book is devoted to the analysis of the political and philosophical thought in Ukraine in the XIX century with the application of methodological approaches to the history of ideas, the history of concepts and words. The analysis is focused on the word \u201cthe public\u201d, through the polysemy and conceptual fruitfulness of which the author approaches the study of the history of the idea of \u200b\u200bthe public. The formation of this idea from the early Ukrainophile discourse of the early XIX century to the mature articulation in the texts of M. Drahomanov and I. Franko is described, as well as the problems of modern Ukrainian nation-building and political philosophy.<\/p>\n
