The Scientific and Publishing Council of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine brings to your attention the ninth annual annotated catalog of book publications of the NAS of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The catalog is formed based on annual reports of scientific institutions of the NAS of Ukraine and advance copies of publications submitted to the Scientific and Publishing Council of the NAS of Ukraine by academic institutions. The catalog includes bibliographic descriptions of book publications published in 2012 \u2014 scientific monographs, non-serial collections of scientific works, dictionary publications, reference books, encyclopedias, popular science, and educational publications.<\/p>\n

The catalog presents 1254 bibliographic descriptions, followed by annotations in the original language (most often in Ukrainian, Russian, or English) and translated into Ukrainian or Russian (English), respectively.<\/p>\n

Descriptions are grouped into 29 thematic sections. The largest sections of the catalog are \u201cHistory\u201d (158 publication titles), \u201cEconomics\u201d (147), and \u201cHistory of science\u201d (102). The rest of the chapters contain from 6 (\u201cMining\u201d and \u201cOriental studies\u201d) to 77 (\u201cBiology\u201d) descriptions.<\/p>\n

At the end of the catalog, one can find auxiliary indexes: first one \u2014 institutions of the NAS of Ukraine, which publications are available in the catalog, with an indication of the serial numbers of these book publications; second one \u2014 institutions that do not belong to the structure of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, but participate in the preparation and release of printed works together with academic institutions.<\/p>\n

The electronic version of the annotated catalog for the year 2012, as well as the previous catalogs of 2004\u20132011, can be found on the website of the Scientific and Publishing Council of the NAS of Ukraine at\u00a0https:\/\/nvd-nanu.org.ua\/category\/books\/<\/a><\/p>\n

The annotated catalog of book publications of the NAS of Ukraine for 2013 is being updated on the same portal via the submission of statutory advance copies of publications by institutions to the Scientific and Publishing Council of the NAS of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
