The thirteenth annual annotated catalog of book publications of the National Academy
\nof Sciences of Ukraine has traditionally been formed on the basis of annual reports of scientific
\ninstitutions of the NAS of Ukraine and control copies of publications submitted to the ScientificPublishing Council of the NAS of Ukraine academic institutions. The catalog includes bibliographic
\ndescriptions of books published during 2016 \u2014 scientific monographs, non-periodical collections of
\nscientific works, vocabulary, reference, encyclopaedic, popular science, educational publications.
\nThe catalog contains 986 bibliographic descriptions accompanied by annotations in the
\noriginal language (most often \u2014 in Ukrainian, Russian or English) and translated into Ukrainian or
\nRussian (English) respectively.
\nDescriptions are grouped into 29 thematic sections. The largest sections of the catalog are
\n\u00abHistory\u00bb (122 titles), \u00abBiology\u00bb (86) and \u00abEconomics\u00bb (84). The remaining sections contain from
\nsix (\u00abGeography\u00bb) to 78 (\u00abHistory of Science\u00bb) descriptions.
\nAt the end of the catalog there are auxiliary indexes: the first one is of the institutions of
\nthe National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, whose publications are represented in the catalog,
\nwith the indication of the serial numbers of these book publications; the second one is of institutions
\nthat do not belong to the structure of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, but which
\nare involved in the preparation and publication of printed works in conjunction with the academic
\ninstitutions.
\nThe electronic version of the annotated catalog for 2016, as well as the previous catalogs for
\n2004\u20132015, is presented at the website of the Scientific-Publishing Council of the NAS of Ukraine at:

\nThe same portal is currently filling in the annotated catalog of book publications of the
\nNAS of Ukraine for 2017 on the basis of the submission of mandatory control copies of publications
\nby the institutions to the Scientific-Publishing Council of the NAS of Ukraine.
