The EU Open Access Initiative for scienti fic publications and the feasibility of supporting it in the NAS of Ukraine

The history of the Open Access Initiative is briefly outlined. The negative and positive aspects of its implementation in Ukraine are considered. Recommendations for implementation of open access scientific publishing activities at the NAS of Ukraine are offered.
