Book Type: Monograph

This monograph is a result of apprehension of a huge volume of complex sources, mainly, of foreign origin, dealing with the period of interest (the 16th – early 17th centuries). Having analyzed the texts from historical and philosophical standpoints the author reveals a diversity of ideological contradictions in opinions of Ukrainian philosophers of that time and divides them into four ideological groups: the Orthodox conservators, the utraquists, the Uniates, and the renaissance humanists. The analysis of these spiritual movements in Ukraine of the period under review allows us to understand a long process of the formation of early modern national culture and philosophical thought.
The book is recommended for scholars, teachers, and students of higher educational establishments and for all those who are interested in history of the Ukrainian philosophy and spiritual culture.
