The publication contains articles prepared based on reports by participants of the panel discussion “Ivan Mazepa and the spatiotemporal atmosphere of his era,” dedicated to the 385th anniversary of the hetman’s birth. Most of them are the results of modern studies, which are being published for the first time. Several written, pictorial, and material sources are introduced into scientific circulation, allowing a new look at the figure of Ivan Mazepa, his family members, relatives, and representatives of his entourage. The research texts are also aimed at furthering the scientific community and society’s insight into Ivan Stepanovich Mazepa’s hetmanship era, the essence and consequences of his political and diplomatic activities, and philanthropy. The book is meant for professional historians, archivists, museum workers, and all those interested in the past of Ukraine-Hetmanate of the 17th — 18th centuries. The collection of scientific papers is based on the materials of the panel discussion of the same name, dedicated to the 385th anniversary of the hetman’s birth (March 20, 2024, Kyiv).
