This publication presents the results of research into Mazepiana and the Mazepa movement that contributed to its creation. The book has been compiled based on materials from the exhibition “Mazepiana in Museum Collections and Private Collections of Ukraine” (2024).
The work aims to provide a general overview of the scientific, artistic, musical, and military aspects of Mazepiana from the 19th century to the first quarter of the 21st century, its stages, content and influence on the formation of Ukrainian national identity. At the same time, the author’s intention was not to provide a definitive treatment of the subject, which may yet be explored in greater depth, expanded upon or supplemented.
This publication will be of use to a wide range of enthusiasts of Ukrainian history, art historians, museum professionals, collectors, lecturers, and students.
