Maria Grazia Bartolini, PhD in Philosophy of the Milan University refutes stereotypes, primarily about the folk, unsystematic nature of the reflection of H.S. Skovoroda, which continue to surround the figure of the Ukrainian thinker and his accomplishments. Matches and textual analogies are discovered with the works of Patristic authors, which makes it possible to consider the ideas of Skovoroda in clear interpretation framework: the division typical of the Eastern Church, the spiritual path of a Christian to praxis (the struggle of the faithful with the deeds of demons), gnosis (the knowledge of the self and the outside world) and theoria, or contemplation of God .
For researchers of the history of philosophy and students of the humanities and all who are interested in Ukrainian culture of early modern times.
