This book is dedicated to the study of the life and career of the prominent scientist-virologist and phytopathologist, former director of the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Semen Mykytovych Moskovets. The scientific achievements, creative enthusiasm, and innovativeness of the scientist were accompanied by dramatic personal conflicts, which were to some extent caused by the complex social cataclysms in which the central figure lived. The publication is recommended for microbiologists, phytopathologists, virologists, historians of science, and students.
